Legislative Committee / Advocacy

The legislative committee for the Dakota Valley Business Council meets periodically from October through April. The group generates the legislative agenda that includes the business community's priorities to be lobbied during the next South Dakota legislative session; plan the annual Pierre Legislative Days lobbying trip (held each year in early February); and participate in conference calls with other business leaders in South Dakota to discuss legislative updates and up to the minute bill status. The committee also plans candidate forums and meetings with various state officials.
